Enterprise maintainability and administrative simplicity are a constant focus of WebOffice. This is a list of important workflows where these advantages will be beneficial:

Centralized maintenance of all project configurations

WebOffice author is your working environment for creation and maintenance of WebOffice projects. Wizards (if preferred a generic edit-mode) plus effective tools provide a straight-forward and efficient way to maintain existing projects or create new ones.

Just combine layers from existing published services, pre-defined queries and views, languages offered, layouts for print/reporting and previously used interfaces to other enterprise systems and finally add your security and user-role concept on top of it.

Your basic services remain untouched and available to all ArcGIS apps - you merely create additional "views" based on this data - for manifold usage scenarios that make use of the extras included in the ready-to-use WebOffice clients.

Fine-grained access control

Being able to define access to functions of a WebApp to a fine-grained level gives administrators control and strengthens enterprise security. In WebOffice the services security model is extended to include roles and user-rights based on Layers, Queries, Reports/Plot templates and even Tools.

And this doesnt end at the administrative level: Users, if granted, can store their queries and selections to be maintained across usage sessions and to be available even on a different machine.

Optional, you connect with common repositories like LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory®, Novell eDirectory® or Sun Directory Server® to implement "Single Sign On".

You have moved on and use Portal for ArcGIS together with your ArcGIS for Server? Good! And rest assured: The Named User scheme you are using is fully supported by WebOffice.

Offer real multi-lingual apps

WebOffice projects can be set up in more than one language in any detail: Besides the GUI of the client this also includes anything else: from the Descriptions to select of predefined queries up to the multi-lingual attribute lists (field-names and content) of identify dialogs. By logging in, the end-user decides which language WebOffice uses to communicate in – including Arabic ... right to left.

Browser-based editing & construction

Offer your users a set of editing and construction features in their browser apps that require a Desktop app otherwise. This includes snapping, configurable editing tasks, editing of tables and more  all with intuitive handling.

These editing features are tied into the extended user rights management - that's your way to define who is allowed to access which functionality!

Handle high-end plot requirements

Template-based plotting is a standard feature of ArcGIS. There is a set of requirements as known from desktop applications that we implemented to extend this template based plotting: Draw your desired plot frame right in the browser window, create Indexplots along a selected line feature, add properly layoutet tables, support for user-defined reference systems or import user-based content like LDAP-attributes, logos, ...

Slick presentations by means of professional reports

WebOffice Reporting is your data-integration-platform plus presentation-media. Create meaningful documents that combine geo-data and location with business data coming from the different sources in your enterprise. All of this is accumulated on the server side and available anywhere – even mobile.

That's where WebOffice scores as an interface to external data sources! Reports are simply defined using an intuitive GUI – and can be based on re-usable templates in your corporate design.

Integrate external systems, make use of standard formats

Enterprise workflows usually involve different systems and applications. The ArcGIS ecosystem supports geo-standards like OGC WM(T)S, WFS and CSW services plus numerous file- and web-formats as well as all leading database systems. 

On top of all that, WebOffice adds more integrational interfaces. A general effect being shorter implementation cycles with predictable costs. These interface extensions are:

Network trace
